Ahmed Elsewedy is the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Elsewedy Electric, leveraging over 35 years of experience in the fields of electricity and energy. Elsewedy Electric is a global leader that has evolved from a local manufacturer of electrical products into an integrated infrastructure solutions provider, with over 19,000 employees and recorded revenues of more than USD 5.13 billion in 2024. 

They operate in five key business sectors: Wire, cable & accessories, electrical products, engineering & construction, digital solutions, and infrastructure investments. They believe that real development comes from creating integrated industrial ecosystems where businesses can grow, industries can expand, and communities can excel.

As President & CEO of Elsewedy Electric, Ahmed has been dedicated to driving innovation and excellence in the global energy sector, since 1986. Under his leadership, their organisation transformed from Egypt’s first private cable factory into a leading provider of integrated energy solutions, operating over 30 production facilities, across 16 countries and serving clients in more than 110 nations.

Beyond his corporate role, Ahmed is committed to fostering international business cooperation, serving as chairman of numerous bilateral business councils, including those for China, Ethiopia, Iraq, Lebanon and Zambia.

Elsewedy received his B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Cairo University in 1986. He is a member of several professional associations, serving in various capacities. He is the Chairman of the ECBC (Egypt China Business Council), Chairman of Ethiopia, Iraq, Lebanon, Zambia, and Algeria’s Business Councils, in addition to his active role as a member of the American, Japan, French, South Africa, Tunisia, Kenya, Austria, Kuwait, UAE, and Egypt Saudi Arabia’s Business Councils, among others.
