Baroness Dambisa Moyo (PhD) is a member of the United Kingdom’s House of Lords. Moyo is a principal of Versaca Investments – a family office focused on growth investing globally. For over a decade, she has served on the board of directors of many large, global, complex corporations.

She sits on several corporate boards, including Chevron, Condé Nast, and Starbucks, along with non-corporate boards like National Geographic Society and Oxford University Endowment.

Dambisa has authored five bestselling books on the global macroeconomy and geopolitics. She holds a PhD in economics from Oxford University and a Master’s degree from Harvard University. She is also a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Moyo is a standout strategist who moves the needle for senior figures shaping both high-stakes investment decisions and public policy. Admired for the originality of her thinking, she pairs a willingness to challenge conventional wisdom with a steady, evidence-led sense of judgment—turning complex economic understanding into clear, actionable propositions.

She holds a PhD in economics from Oxford University and a Masters degree from Harvard University and is recognised for fresh and innovative ideas as the author of five bestselling book on the global macroeconomy and geopolitics. Her newest book “How Boards Work” was ranked number 5 on the Wall Street Journal best business book list.

Dambisa is an honorary fellow of the Foreign Policy Association, member of the Bretton Woods Committee and member of Trilateral Commission.

She was named to the list of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World; has published in the Financial Times, WSJ, Barrons, Harvard Business Review and has travelled to over 70 countries. In her spare time, she runs marathons and practices Pilates.

She is the new Chair of the Board of Trustees of The Economic Club of New York and is positioned to guide the Club into their next chapter as they prepare for their 120th anniversary. “My focus will be on ensuring the Club remains a premier global forum for non-partisan, thoughtful dialogue, particularly as we look at the major forces shaping our future—including AI, the energy transition, and shifting geopolitical alignments.” She stated.
