Omamofe Boyo, also known as ‘Mofe, is a seasoned energy leader who currently serves as Deputy Group Chief Executive at OANDO. He also holds the role of Executive Director and Executive Vice Chairman at Oando Energy Resources Nigeria Limited, and sits on the boards of several fellow ventures, including Oando Trading Dubai, Oando Clean Energy Limited, Ocean and Oil Development Partners, Crown Interactive, and Temple Productions.

With more than a quarter-century of leadership in Africa’s energy landscape, Mofe has become a trusted driver of growth, strategic partnerships, and policy influence. He is known for shaping ambitious business moves, guiding mergers, and supporting regulatory reforms that aim to strengthen the sector.

Since joining Oando in 2004, Mofe has been at the forefront of major expansion initiatives. He played a key role in strategic acquisitions such as ConocoPhillips Nigeria and Nigerian AGIP Oil Company, and he led efforts that culminated in Oando’s listings on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. He also championed a centralised shared-services model that streamlined operations and delivered significant cost efficiencies, all while nurturing a values-led organisational culture.

Beyond corporate strategy, Mofe has contributed to policy discussions that shape Nigeria’s energy future, including input on important legislation like the Petroleum Industry Bill and the Nigerian Content Development Act. He has been a catalyst for transforming Oando from a downstream-focused company into a comprehensive energy player spanning upstream, midstream, and downstream activities.

As a leader, Mofe actively engages with government agencies and industry stakeholders to advocate for reforms and greater local participation. Before taking on his current executive responsibilities, he was at the helm of Oando Marketing and later led Supply & Trading, where he helped establish what became Africa’s largest private petroleum trading operation.

He has a solid legal foundation as a member of the Nigerian Bar Association, is a member of the Institute of Directors, and the Nigeria Business Council for Sustainable Development. ‘Mofe Boyo has extensive negotiation experience and continues to shape Nigeria’s energy landscape, driving sustainable growth and industry excellence.
