Benedicto Bena Nkhoma is a Malawian citizen and an Award-Winning Executive, inspirational leader, strategic investor and public speaker and veteran banker with over two decades of experience in banking, insurance, investment, and corporate governance across Africa.

He is the Group Board Chairman of Citrine Financial Group Holdings Plc, a Pan‑African financial services company founded in Rwanda in 2024 by top-tier investment and commercial banking leaders. They are building an integrated financial ecosystem designed to empower Africa’s under‑banked and underserved communities.

As the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Citrine-Holdings Plc, Benedicto Bena Nkhoma provides visionary leadership to the board, ensuring strong governance, strategic direction, and accountability across the group. He plays a central role in defining Citrine-Holdings’ corporate values and shaping its future as a Pan-African financial powerhouse.

He acts as a guiding force for executive leadership, supporting strategic fundraising, investor engagement, and corporate ethics, while championing Citrine’s broader mission of financial inclusion and innovation across Africa.

Throughout his career, Benedicto has helped build institutions, led teams, navigated complex financial markets and contributes to the development of Africa’s financial sector. Previously, he held senior executive positions in banking, including Head of Treasury, Chief Treasury and Global Markets Officer and Acting Chief Executive Officer.

Benedicto is a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Banker and holder of an MBA from the University of Pretoria.

Beyond the boardroom, he is passionate about financial literacy, entrepreneurship, leadership and sustainable wealth creation. His mission is to help Africans move beyond merely earning an income to owning productive assets, building enterprises and creating intergenerational wealth.

According to him “Africa does not have only an income problem. It has an ownership problem.”
